A Project Of The Educational Cooperation Society, That Aims To Complement The Academic Training

History

Helmbridge Study Centre was founded in 1972 by members of the Educational Cooperation Society (ECS), a registered non-profit making trust in Nigeria. Its original location was a rented house on Ishawu Adewale Street, off Adeniran Ogunsanya in Surulere. At that time in comprised only of the junior and senior clubs. Several career talks were also given over the course of that year and by the next year there were seminar series, tutorials for students facing major examinations (WAEC, JAMB, etc.) as well as regular talks on human virtues.

A piece of land was acquired in 1974 on Census Close for the construction of the permanent site of Helmbridge Study Centre. A Board of Patrons had been constituted the previous year and fundraising had already begun. The project was completed in 1976 and Helmbridge was moved to its present location on Census Close.
