Our journey to FCT, Abuja, started on the 6th of
April at exactly 8:05am. We travelled for about 11hrs by road to reach our
destination. 17 boys participated in
this year’s edition of Maths Camp – an Easter holiday camp to help the boys in
the club make good use of their holiday studying and at the same time having
fun.
We camped at Titsall Global School, Adetokunbo Ademola, Wuse
II, Abuja. It was a 7-day camping with a
very demanding timetable – commented by one of the participants. The timetable was able to accommodate 3hrs of
Mathematics daily, talks of virtues, catechism classes, and extracurricular
activities – afternoon and evening games and sports.
We were able to explore the FCT. We went on excursion to see the Zuma Rock,
National Stadium, the Wonderland Amusement Park, the Millennium Park and the
National Assembly. We had an endurance
trek which gave us the opportunity of seeing other exciting places. The height of all these excitement was the
climbing of the two hills around the Wonderland Amusement Park. It is just a beautiful site to behold;
looking down from the top you see a well-planned city of FCT.
Maths Camps have always been an opportunity to learn new
things, discover oneself more, develop spirit of service for others and make
new friends.
